The Process Revealed

1

Safety & Preparation

Before approaching the equipment, we cover essential safety protocols and familiarize you with the tools. Understanding the studio environment is the foundation of confident glassblowing.

2

Gathering & Coloring

Extract liquid glass from the intense heat of the furnace. We will guide you through the motions to keep the glass centered before rolling it in crushed colored frit to personalize your design.

3

Shaping & Blowing

Introduce air to expand the form. Using wooden blocks, wet newspaper, and steel jacks, you will physically shape the piece as it cools, reheating as necessary.

4

The Annealing Phase

Finished pieces must cool slowly overnight in a specialized kiln to prevent shattering. Your creation will be ready for collection the following day.
